Maya Russo
Account Executive
With a background in journalism and public relations, Maya used her strong interviewing skills to transition into the IT staffing industry more than 12 years ago. She finds it to be a very rewarding field, one in which you can quickly influence a person's life and career path.
For Maya, MATRIX topped her list of companies she wanted to work for because of its reputation in the market. With multiple offers on the table, it became very clear to Maya that MATRIX was the place for her. She made the decision to join MATRIX over ten years ago and has never regretted it.

Maya first started as a Recruiter with MATRIX but later decided to move into her Account Executive role based on encouragement and support from her teammates and management. Although moving from the candidate to the client side has been an adjustment, she enjoys developing relationships with her clients and earning the opportunity to do business with them.
Networking, whether through events or sites such as LinkedIn, has played a large role for Maya in helping to build her business and stay on top of trends in technology. "People want to do business with people they know and trust. Being consistent about meeting with people, introducing other people, and staying in touch will eventually bring about results." She knows it can be a long sales cycle, but you have to stay patient, be proactive, and look at the big picture in order to be successful. Maya also believes that you should "maintain your own personal style in business while always doing the right thing."
Maya is an active member of various networking groups including Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) and High Tech Ministries. Outside of networking events, Maya is an avid runner and enjoys playing tennis, swimming, and cycling. She has completed over 20 half and full marathons.
