Heather started working at MATRIX in 2003 as a Business Assistant for one of the Account Executives in the Dallas office.  She worked in this role for about a year, learned the business, and then moved into a recruiting position.  It wasn’t her goal to move into recruiting when she first started at MATRIX; “I didn’t know anything about the business or the industry, but I learned about it and grew to like it.”  The thing that made Heather want to move into recruiting was the satisfaction of helping people. “I think we all enjoy doing things to help other people, so it worked out well that I get to do that every day.  I make placements and help people get back to work.”

Heather’s favorite things about working at MATRIX are the people she works with and the culture of the company.  “Everyone I work with at MATRIX is just wonderful.  We have such strong tenure people at our company and when you look at other companies that do the same thing we do, they don’t have that.  I think it’s an honor to work for such a great company!”

One of the most rewarding placements for Heather was when she placed someone that had been out of work for a year into a helpdesk position.  Then two years later, he grew into a manager and is now hiring from MATRIX.  It’s very gratifying to watch that growth in someone and to work with them.  “This particular candidate will only work with MATRIX now because I took the time to meet with him when he was so scared and worried about not ever finding a job, and now here he is a hiring manager; been there six years, loves the company, and loves his job.”

In her spare time Heather enjoys running and volunteering.  She is very active with helping animals and volunteers with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Dallas.
