Elaina came to MATRIX in May 2010, just a few days after graduating from Peace College with a degree in Human Resources and a minor in Business Administration.  She started out working as an Administrative Assistant, then moved up to an Account Coordinator position in January 2011.  “It was perfect timing; I went through a temp agency and they said they had a client that needed someone to start right away.  So I went to MATRIX and interviewed on a whim.  The position ended up being perfect for me because of my background in HR.”  It was a rather long interview process for Elaina; she had to interview first at the temp agency and then when MATRIX offered her the job she had to interview with a few of the employees.  Elaina jokes, “It was strange being interviewed when you were kind of already employed by the company.” 

Interacting with other people is Elaina’s favorite part of working at MATRIX.  “I really like working with people and I have always had an interest in recruiting.  I just like being in an atmosphere where we are helping people find jobs.”  She also likes the HR/business side of it; “I like helping the candidates work through the placement process, helping them with the paperwork, and telling them about the benefits and everything.”  Elaina just recently helped place a candidate that had been out of work for a while and it was an overall great experience for her.  “He was so grateful and appreciative, and that makes me feel really good about what we do here at MATRIX.”

Outside of the office Elaina enjoys spending time with her family.  She has two children, a boy and girl.  Her son is at the age where he is getting involved with sports, so going to all of his sporting events keeps her and her husband pretty busy.
