Federal Taxes

Quick W-4 Form tax link

MATRIX is required to withhold federal taxes for all W-2 employees.  If an employee claims an exempt status on his/her W-4 federal tax form, no federal income tax will be withheld. All W-4 forms indicating an exempt status are required to be submitted to the IRS each quarter for verification and review.  Under certain circumstances, the IRS can require withholding for an employee who wishes to claim exempt.  If exempt is claimed, a new W-4 will need to be submitted each year.

Changes to federal taxes can be made at any point during your contract, if you desire.  To submit changes effective with a particular time period, please send your new W-4 form with your time sheet to your regular time sheet fax.  Your tax withholding will be changed on the subsequent payroll.

Remember, your taxes are your responsibility – if you desire advice or further assistance, please visit the IRS Web site, offering guides and publications answering tax payers frequently asked question, or your local tax professional.
